Winnipeg Civic Centres & Community Halls
This cultural centre is mandated to promote and showcase artistic and cultural art to the population of Winnipeg. Art shows, small dramatic productions, and musical performances are regular occurrences.
The West End Cultural Centre opened its doors as a non-profit organization in 1987. After they acquired an old church, they began to hold a variety of music events from beyond the mainstream. Now, the centre attracts over 30,000 music lovers a year with performances by local, national, and international talent showcasing music from all genres.
In the heart of Winnipeg lie 160,000 square feet dedicated to any and every kind of event held in Manitoba.
Located in the heart of Chinatown, this community centre works to promote awareness of Chinese culture through public events, education and other special services.
Home to the Centre du Patrimoine, archives and library of the societe historique de saint-boniface (SHSB), which houses archival collections of the francophone history of Manitoba, as well as genealogical resources on French Canadian and Metis families in the west. Also houses a restaurant, performance theatre, art gallery and gift shop. Free.
