Lake Manitoba
Lake Maintoba is the smallest of the province's three large lakes, at 4,624 sq km (1,785 sq mi). The lake played an important role in Canada's early fur trade and is rumoured to be the home of the mysterious creature of the deep, Manipogo.

Lake Winnipeg is the eleventh largest freshwater lake on Earth and is a popular summer resort area. The lake is popular due to its sandy beaches, warm summer temperatures and close proximity to Winnipeg, only 55 km (34 mi) to the south.
